Privacy Policy
This policy explains what CompareTreeServices collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website and the email channel we use for listing claims and corrections. Effective August 2026.
What We Collect
When you email us to claim a listing, request a correction, or ask a question, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. For a claim that is typically your name, your business name, your city, and any proof of ownership we ask for when we reply. We do not ask for payment details over email and no payment is involved in claiming.
Like most websites, our hosting keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, timestamps) for security and reliability. If analytics run on this site they are used in aggregate to understand what pages people read, not to identify you.
How We Use It
We use what you send us to do the thing you asked for: match your email to your listing, verify that you run the business, apply your corrections, and reply to your questions. We do not use it for anything else.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not add you to a marketing list because you claimed a listing.
Business Listing Data Comes From Public Sources
The directory itself shows business information, not personal information: company names, service areas, service lists, phone numbers, websites, and Google ratings attributed to their source. It is compiled from public listings and public business websites.
If a listing describes your business and something is wrong, email us and we correct it. If you want your business removed from the directory, email us and we handle that too.
Retention and Your Choices
We keep claim and correction emails while the related listing is active, because they are the record of who owns it and what we changed. Ask us to delete your correspondence and we will, unless we need a minimal record to honor the request itself, such as remembering a removal so we do not relist you.
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. One email to the address below does any of the three. If this policy changes we update this page and the effective date at the top.
Cookies, Hosting, and Service Providers
This site runs on WordPress. It sets cookies when someone logs in to an administrator account; for visitors it does not set tracking cookies of its own. If we enable an analytics tool we will name it on this page, and it will be configured for aggregate statistics rather than individual tracking.
Like any website, we rely on service providers to operate: our hosting company processes server logs, including IP addresses and browser user agents, to serve pages and keep the site secure, and our email provider processes the messages you send to our address. These providers handle data on our behalf to run the service, not for their own marketing. Links to provider websites and to Google listings leave this site, and what those destinations collect is governed by their own policies.
CompareTreeServices operates this website and is the contact for everything in this policy. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Where the privacy law that applies to you grants additional rights, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority, nothing on this page limits them.
Quote Requests
If you send a quote request through our get-quotes form, we collect your name, phone number, ZIP code, the service and urgency you select, and any note you add. An email address is optional.
We use that information for one purpose: matching your request with tracked tree service companies in your area so they can contact you about it. Sharing happens only with the companies matched to your request, on the consent you give at the form’s checkbox.
Quote requests are kept while they are relevant to the matching service and are then deleted. We do not sell request details to third-party lead brokers.
